Comparing the Chiller RangeUpdated 9 days ago

Every Chiller Does This

All Vital+ chillers cool your water to a target temperature and hold it there continuously. The core job is the same across the entire range. The differences come down to how cold, how fast, how much volume, and what level of filtration you need.

Filtration Explained

Original

  • An integrated sediment filter captures larger particles in the water, and an external 20-micron filter provides a second layer of fine filtration. Suitable for regular users who are comfortable with periodic water changes.

Pro

  • A fully integrated three-stage system: sediment filter, integrated 20-micron filter, and an ozone sanitisation system. Ozone runs intermittently to break down bacteria and keep water cleaner between changes.

Note: We are currently stocking the Pro configuration for most chillers. The Ultra Ice ships with Pro as standard.

Just getting started?

  • If you're new to cold therapy and want reliable automated cooling without complexity, the Ultra X2 is the best starting point for most people. It covers all tub types, connects to an app, and has a compact footprint. The X1 is also an option but is being discontinued and is UK-only.

Daily home use with better water quality?

  • If you're plunging regularly and want to reduce how often you're changing water, step up to the Acrylic Bundle Chiller or Ultra Max. Both support the Pro filtration upgrade with integrated ozone sanitisation, which keeps water cleaner for longer.

You want to reach 2°C or below, fast?

  • The Ultra Max is built for this. A 1 HP compressor, 2,700W of cooling capacity, and a cooling time under 3 hours for typical home volumes. It's the highest-performing chiller in the range for residential use and cools to 1–2°C. It also has a screen and upgraded technical use.

You're running a commercial or professional setup?

  • The Ultra Ice is the only unit in the range designed for commercial environments. At 2 HP and up to 5,000W cooling capacity, it can handle 300 litres in under 2.3 hours at 220–240V. If you're running a gym, studio, or recovery centre, this is the unit for you.

You want heating as well as cooling?

  • Both the Acrylic Bundle (up to 108˚F or 42°C) and the Ultra Max / Ultra Ice (up to 113˚F or 45°C) include heating mode. If you're building a contrast therapy setup and want to alternate between cold and warm in the same tub, these are the options.

Key Points

All chillers in the range share the same core safety requirements. The most important:

  • Always power off the chiller before getting into the water.
  • Leave the chiller upright for 24 hours after delivery before switching it on.
  • Ensure at least 100 cm of clear space around all vents at all times.
  • Always have someone nearby during cold therapy sessions.
  • Never use the chiller with wet hands.
  • See each product's individual spec article for the full safety and electrical guidelines.
