Connect Your Tuya AppUpdated a day ago
Pairing your chiller with the Tuya Smart app lets you control it from your phone. Set the temperature, schedule sessions, and check the water temp at a glance. Setup takes about five minutes, and this guide walks you through every step.
Before you start
Just a few things to have ready:
- Your chiller is powered on. Make sure it's plugged in and the indicator light is showing.
- Your phone is on a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. This is the most common stumbling block — see the note below.
- You've downloaded the Tuya Smart app from the App Store or Google Play, and created a Tuya account.
A quick note on Wi-Fi: The chiller only connects to 2.4 GHz networks. It can't use 5 GHz. Most modern routers broadcast both, often under the same network name, which can confuse the setup process. If you're not sure which band your phone is on, check your Wi-Fi settings or skip ahead to the troubleshooting section below.
How to pair your chiller
- Power on the chiller if it isn't already.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the chiller for 6–10 seconds, until the indicator light starts blinking rapidly. That's the chiller telling you it's ready to pair.
- Open the Tuya Smart app and tap the + icon in the top-right to add a new device.
- Enter your 2.4 GHz network name and password when prompted.
- Wait for the green checkmark. Once it appears, you're paired — your chiller will show up on the app's home screen.
Troubleshooting: pairing won't complete
Wi-Fi setup can be a little finicky. If it doesn't work on the first try, you're not alone. Here's what usually fixes it:
- You might be on 5 GHz without realising. Many routers broadcast both 2.4 and 5 GHz under the same network name, so your phone may have auto-joined the 5 GHz band. The quickest fix is to temporarily disable the 5 GHz band in your router settings while you pair, then re-enable it after.
- Move closer to the router. Both your phone and the chiller should be within a few metres during pairing.
- Restart the chiller and try again. Power it off for 30 seconds, switch it back on, then restart from step 2.

Using the app
Once your chillers are paired, you can:
- Set a target temperature remotely
- Monitor current water temperature in real time
- Schedule on/off times so it's ready exactly when you want it
