Before you begin
A few things to have ready:
- Your chiller is powered on — plugged in, with the indicator light showing
- Your phone is on a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network — the chiller can't use 5 GHz (see the note below)
- The Tuya Smart app is installed — download from the App Store or Google Play and create a Tuya account
- Your phone, the chiller, and your router are close together — pairing is most reliable when all three are within a few metres
A quick note on Wi-Fi: The chiller only connects to 2.4 GHz networks it can't use 5 GHz. Most modern routers broadcast both bands, often under the same network name, which is the single most common cause of pairing problems. If you're not sure which band your phone is on, check your Wi-Fi settings or see the troubleshooting section below.
Step-by-step pairing
Step 1 — Power on the chiller
Make sure it's plugged in and switched on if it isn't already.
Step 2 — Put the chiller into pairing mode
Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the chiller until the indicator light blinks rapidly about twice per second. That fast blink means the chiller is ready to pair.
If your unit doesn't have a dedicated Wi-Fi button, press and hold the power button for around 5 seconds to reset it into pairing mode. Check your unit's manual if you're unsure which button to use.
Step 3 — Add the device in the app
Open the Tuya Smart app and tap the + icon in the top-right of the home screen to add a new device. Select your product type if prompted.
Step 4 — Enter your Wi-Fi details
When prompted, select your 2.4 GHz network and enter the password, then tap OK to begin pairing.
Step 5 — Wait for confirmation
Pairing takes a few seconds. Once it completes, your chiller appears on the app's home screen and you're ready to go.
Troubleshooting: pairing won't complete
Wi-Fi setup can be a little finicky. If it doesn't work first time, you're not alone here are the five most common causes, in the order worth checking:
- You're on 5 GHz without realising. This is the number-one culprit. Many routers broadcast 2.4 and 5 GHz under the same network name, so your phone may have auto-joined the 5 GHz band. The quickest fix is to temporarily disable the 5 GHz band in your router settings while you pair, then switch it back on after.
- Everything's too far apart. Your phone, the chiller, and the router all need to be close together during pairing ideally within a few metres. Walls and distance weaken the signal at exactly the moment it matters most.
- The indicator light isn't blinking fast enough. The chiller has to be in pairing mode (a rapid blink, around twice a second) before the app can find it. If it's blinking slowly or not at all, reset it (Step 2) and try again.
- Wrong Wi-Fi password, or a hidden network. Double-check the password is correct, and make sure your network name is being broadcast normally rather than set to hidden mode. The chiller can't connect to a hidden network.
- Router security settings are incompatible. The chiller needs the router's encryption set to WPA2-PSK with AES (or both set to automatic). Routers locked to "11n only" mode can also block the connection. If you've tried everything else, these settings are worth a look — or check with your internet provider.

Using the app
Once your chiller is paired, you can:
- Set a target temperature remotely
- Monitor current water temperature in real time
- Schedule on/off times so it's ready exactly when you want it
