Setting Up Your Arctic TubUpdated a day ago
The Arctic White is designed for a plug-and-play setup. Most users are in the water within 5–10 minutes of unboxing.
Choosing your placement
- Suitable for indoor or outdoor use. The tub carries an IPX4 weatherproof rating.
- If using the chiller outdoors in cold conditions, follow the precautions in the chiller user manual and consider covering the chiller unit in extreme weather.
- Choose a flat, stable surface. Allow clearance beside the tub for the chiller and hose connections.
Inflation
- Remove the tub from the carry bag and unfold on your chosen surface.
- Inflate using the double-action hand pump included. Inflate until the 4-inch drop-stitch walls are fully firm and rigid.
- Ensure all valve pins are in the raised (closed) position once inflated.
Connecting the chiller
Connect the chiller inlet and outlet hoses to the corresponding fittings on the tub before filling. This is significantly easier than connecting after the tub is full.
Filling
- Fill via garden hose to your preferred level.
- Leave approximately 10–15 cm from the top rim to prevent overflow when you get in.
- Once filled, power on the chiller and set your target temperature via the TUYA Smart app or directly on the unit.
Temperature
Allow 8–12 hours for the water to reach your target temperature from ambient. Running overnight is the most practical approach for a morning plunge.
Once the chiller reaches your set temperature, it moves into standby mode and only restarts if the water moves more than 2°C outside the target range. This keeps running costs low.
Water care
- Wash the internal filters weekly (no replacement needed).
- Replace the 20-micron cartridge filter every 5–7 weeks.
- Keep the thermal-shield lid on between sessions to retain temperature and keep debris out.
- With the triple-stage filtration system, water changes are typically needed every 6–8 weeks under normal use.
First plunge tip
New to cold therapy? Start at 15°C for 2–3 minutes and build duration and temperature gradually. The ergonomic angled form supports a reclined position: brace your feet against the flat base, lean back, and focus on slow, controlled breathing. See Getting Started with Cold Therapy for a full guide.
