Setting Up Your Chiller IceUpdated a day ago
The most powerful chiller in the range. Before doing anything else, read the first step below as it's easy to miss and skipping it can cause damage.
Before you start: The 24-hour rule
After delivery, leave the unit upright for 24 hours before powering it on. This allows the refrigeration oil to settle after transport and is critical for the unit to operate correctly. Powering on too early can cause damage and may affect warranty eligibility.
Additional placement requirements:
- Position on a flat, stable surface in a well-ventilated area
- Keep approximately 100 cm of clear space around all vents. Do not install in an enclosed space, cupboard, or against a wall without adequate airflow
- The Ultra Ice 2HP generates significant heat exhaust. A utility area, plant room, or well-ventilated garage is ideal.
- Unit weight is 54 kg. Plan your installation location before moving it into position.
- Confirm your power supply matches the chiller's voltage requirements (US: 106–127V, 60Hz). Use a properly rated dedicated outlet. Do not use long extension cords.
Connecting to your tub
- Connect the inlet hose to the inlet fitting on your tub
- Connect the outlet hose to the outlet fitting on your tub
- Ensure all connections are hand-tight and hoses run without kinking between the chiller and tub
- Confirm the paper filter is installed inside the unit before filling or powering on
Filling your tub
- Fill your tub before switching the chiller on.
- The water level must be between the chiller inlet and the tub inlet. Running the pump without sufficient water will cause damage.
- The chiller requires a minimum water flow of 14 L/min to operate correctly.
- If you see a water flow warning on the control panel, check the filter and connections before continuing.
Powering on
- Confirm the unit has been upright for 24 hours since delivery
- Confirm water level is correct and the paper filter is installed
- Switch on at the wall
- Set your target temperature on the touch panel. Water temperature is adjustable between 0–45°C.
- Allow approximately 3 hours or more to reach your target temperature for a standard 300L volume. Larger volumes will take longer.
Connecting to WiFi
The Ultra Ice 2HP uses the TUYA Smart app on a 2.4 GHz network only. 5 GHz networks will not work.
- Power the unit on
- Press and hold the WiFi key for 6–10 seconds until the WiFi icon blinks on the panel
- Open the TUYA Smart app, select Add Device, and follow the on-screen steps
- Enter your 2.4 GHz network name and password when prompted
- A green check in the app confirms pairing is complete
If pairing fails, move the router closer, reboot both the router and the chiller, and try again.
Filter maintenance
- Paper filter: inspect and replace when dirty. Clean every 4 weeks as a guide.
- Dust net: clean approximately every 3 months
- Always switch the RCD off before replacing the paper filter
- If the control panel shows a water flow warning, check and clean the paper filter first as this is the most common cause
Safety
- Never operate the chiller while anyone is in the water. Always power the unit off before a therapy session.
- If you smell burning or see water near any electrical components, unplug immediately and contact support. Do not attempt to use or repair the unit.
- If your RCD/GFCI trips repeatedly, do not continue to reset it. Contact a qualified electrician.
- Before extended storage or if temperatures may drop below 0°C, open the drain outlet and empty all water from the unit to prevent freezing damage.
The Ultra Ice 2HP is currently available in the US only.
