The cedar wood has cracks. Is this a defect?Updated an hour ago

Cedar is a natural material and will expand and contract depending on moisture and climate.

Small surface cracks or hairline splits can be normal, especially in dry environments.

However, please contact us if you notice:

  • Large structural cracks

  • Gaps between staves

  • Movement affecting structural integrity

  • Leaking through the wood

  • Splitting around metal bands

Send photos and details about your climate and installation location so we can properly assess.
