Chiller Sensor FaultUpdated 2 hours ago
A sensor fault means one of the sensors that monitors temperature or pressure inside your chiller has stopped reading correctly. The chiller switches off to protect itself. It’s a hardware message, not something caused by how you’ve used it.
What you’ll see
- Ultra X2 and Acrylic Chiller: E1 (water temperature sensor)
- Ultra X4, Chiller Max and Ultra Ice: the sensor is named on screen
| Code | Sensor |
|---|---|
| T1 | Inlet water temperature |
| T2 | Ambient (air) temperature |
| T3 | Defrost |
| T4 | Outlet water temperature |
| T5 | Post-valve |
| T6 | Fin (heat exchanger) |
| P1 | Low pressure |
| P2 | High pressure |
What to do
- Switch off at the wall and wait 30 seconds.
- Power back on. A one-off glitch often clears with a reset.
- If the fault clears, carry on, and keep an eye on it over your next few sessions.
- If the fault comes back, the sensor needs reseating or replacing. That isn’t a home repair, so contact us.
Pressure alarms (P1 or P2): don’t reset repeatedly. These relate to the sealed refrigeration system. Switch the chiller off and contact us.
Please don’t
- Open the chiller casing. The sensors and refrigeration system are sealed inside, and opening it can be unsafe and may affect your warranty.
- Keep resetting if the fault keeps returning. Repeated resets won’t fix it.
When you contact us, include:
- Your order number and model
- The exact code shown (a photo is best)
- When it happens: at startup, after running a while, or randomly.
Most sensor faults are fixed with a replacement part under warranty.
