Setup

The Acrylic Tub is a permanent or semi-permanent installation.

  1. Choose your final position before filling. The tub is very heavy once full and should not be moved.
  2. Ensure drain access is available below or beside the tub.
  3. Place the chiller on a stable, level surface nearby with ~100cm clearance around the vents.
  4. Leave the chiller upright for 24 hours after delivery before powering on for the first time.
  5. Confirm the drain valve is fully closed before filling.
  6. Connect chiller hoses to the IN and OUT fittings before adding water, ensure all valves are hand-tight.
  7. Fill to 5–7cm below the rim, open the drainer briefly to purge any air, close once flow stabilises.
  8. Power on, confirm water flow is above 14 L/min on the control panel, and set your target temperature via the Tuya Smart App.

Your First Session

The Acrylic Tub cools and heats, so it works year-round.

Before you get in

  • Set your target temperature via the Tuya Smart App and allow time to cool.
  • Starting temperature and water volume will affect how long it takes to reach your target.
  • A good starting point is 55–60°F (13–15°C). You don't need to go straight to the minimum.
  • The benefits are well established at moderate cold temperatures.
  • The ergonomic recline is intentional. Let your body settle into the shape rather than sitting upright. It makes a noticeable difference to comfort, especially in longer sessions.

In the water

  • Aim for 2–3 minutes for your first session. Build to 5–10 minutes over time as your body adapts.
  • Slow, controlled breathing is more effective than trying to push through the cold.
  • A few slow exhales in the first 30 seconds will help your nervous system settle.
  • Keep hands submerged where possible. You lose significant heat through your hands and keeping them in makes sessions more effective.

After your session

  • Let your body rewarm naturally before jumping into a hot shower. The rewarming process is part of where the metabolic benefit happens.
  • If you have a SaunaPod or XEN, contrast therapy (alternating cold and heat) is one of the most effective recovery protocols you can build at home.

A note on the ozone cycle

  • The chiller runs an automatic ozone sterilization cycle to keep the water clean.
  • You can adjust the settings via the app.
  • Do not use bleach or corrosive disinfectants in the water the ozone system handles sanitisation.

Care & Maintenance

The Acrylic Tub is low-maintenance by design. Simple habits keeps it performing well long-term.

The tub

  • Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners only.
  • No bleach, abrasives, or solvents as they'll permanently damage the acrylic surface.
  • For mineral buildup: diluted white vinegar (1:4 with water) on a soft cloth, rinse thoroughly.
  • Dry the interior between uses where possible to prevent biofilm buildup.
  • Leave the lid slightly open between uses to allow air circulation.

The chiller

  • Clean the built-in mesh filter monthly, rinse and reinstall.
  • Replace the 20-micron paper filter element every 4–6 weeks depending on use. Always switch the RCD off before replacing the paper filter.
  • Clean the dust net on the chiller every 3 months.
  • Keep ~100cm clearance around the chiller vents at all times.
  • Inspect hose connections and fittings quarterly for wear, looseness, or leaks.
  • Do not power on the chiller while anyone is in the water.

Winter and extended storage

If temperatures are expected to drop below 32°F (0°C), or the tub will be unused for 4 or more weeks:

  1. Turn off and disconnect the chiller.
  2. Open the drain valve and attach a hose to direct water to a suitable drain point.
  3. Open the drainer on the chiller to fully drain all water from the unit and connected piping.
  4. Store the chiller indoors if possible. Freezing temperatures will permanently damage internal components.
  5. Leave the drain valve open during storage.
