What's in the box

  • Cedar tub
  • Stainless steel liner
  • Drain valve assembly
  • Hose fittings for chiller connection
  • User manual

Setup and first fill

  1. Choose your final position before filling. The tub is very heavy once full and should not be moved.
  2. The Duo requires two people for any repositioning.
  3. Confirm the drain valve at the base is fully closed before filling.
  4. Connect chiller hoses to the IN and OUT fittings before adding water.
  5. Fill slowly and monitor the wood seams.

Minor seeping at the seams on first fill is completely normal. Cedar absorbs water and swells, naturally sealing gaps within 24–48 hours. Leave the tub filled and monitor. Only empty if leaking is significant.

Water appearance on first fills

Water may appear dark or tea-coloured for the first few fills. This is natural tannin leaching from the cedar and is harmless. It reduces significantly after 3–5 fills.

Caring for your Cedar Tub

  • Rinse the exterior after each use with clean water
  • For surface marks: use a lightly damp cloth, wipe gently, then dry immediately
  • Leave the lid off or at an angle between uses to allow air circulation
  • Do not use bleach, abrasive pads, power hoses, or solvent cleaners on the cedar

For the stainless steel liner:

  • Wipe dry after draining
  • For mineral buildup: diluted white vinegar (1:4 vinegar to water) on a soft cloth, rinse thoroughly
  • Do not use steel wool, bleach, or abrasive powders on the liner
  • Check the liner periodically for surface corrosion and contact support if found

Winter storage and draining

Drain and store the tub if temperatures are expected to drop below 0°C (32°F), if the tub will be unused for 4 or more weeks, or for any extended storage period.

  1. Turn off and disconnect the chiller
  2. Open the drain valve at the base and attach a hose to direct water to a drain point
  3. Once empty, dry the liner thoroughly with a soft cloth
  4. Tilt the tub slightly to allow any residual water to drain from the liner seams
  5. Leave the drain valve open during storage
  6. Store in a covered, sheltered position (indoors is ideal)
  7. Do not store upside down as this stresses the cedar stave joints

Do not allow water to freeze inside the tub. Ice expansion will permanently damage the liner.
