Meet Our SaunaPod Infrared & SteamUpdated an hour ago

Product Overview

The SaunaPods bring the sauna to you. Both are portable, fold flat, and set up without professional installation. The Infrared uses panels to deliver dry heat that penetrates directly into muscle and joint tissue. The Steam generates hot, humid air for a more traditional sauna feel.

Your First Session

Infrared heats your body directly rather than the air around you, so the experience feels different to a traditional sauna — more comfortable for most people, which means longer sessions are easier to sustain.

Before you get in

  • A good starting temperature is 122–131°F (50–55°C). You don't need to go to the maximum straight away — the therapeutic effects are well established at moderate temperatures.
  • Allow the full preheat time before entering. Getting in early means the panels are still ramping up and the session will be less effective.

In the pod

  • Start with 20–30 minutes for your first session. Build to 40–45 minutes as your body adapts.
  • Keep the pod zipped during your session to maintain temperature.
  • Use the red light strips throughout your session — sustained exposure is more effective than short bursts.
  • Chromotherapy is worth experimenting with. Blue and cooler tones suit decompression and evening sessions. Red and warmer tones work well pre-workout or in the morning.
  • Hydrate before and after — infrared produces a genuine sweat.

After your session

  • Leave the pod open after use to air out and allow moisture to escape.
  • If contrast therapy is part of your routine, moving from the SaunaPod directly to a cold plunge is one of the most effective combinations you can do at home.

Your First Session

Steam heat is humid and enveloping — it feels closer to a traditional Finnish sauna than infrared. The moisture opens airways and makes the heat feel more intense, even at lower temperatures.

Before you get in

  • Start at a lower heat level and work up. The combination of heat and 100% humidity is more intense than dry heat at the same temperature.
  • Fill the steam unit before every session — do not switch on with an empty tank.

In the pod

  • Start with 15–20 minutes for your first session. Build from there as your body adapts.
  • Keep the pod fully zipped to maintain steam and temperature.
  • If using essential oils, add them only to the small circular steam dispenser inside the tent. Never add oils directly to the external steam chamber — this will damage the unit.
  • Hydrate well before and after — steam sessions produce significant fluid loss.

After your session

  • Leave the pod open after use to allow steam and moisture to fully dissipate.
  • Empty any remaining water from the steam unit after each session to prevent limescale and bacterial buildup.

Care & Maintenance

Most care steps apply to both models. Where they differ, it's called out clearly.

After every session

  • Leave the pod open for at least 15–20 minutes after use to air out and allow moisture to escape.
  • Wipe down the bamboo chair and mat with a dry cloth.
  • (Steam only) Empty remaining water from the steam unit after every session — leaving water sitting accelerates limescale buildup and bacterial growth.

The frame and cover

  • Wipe the ThermoShield cover with a soft damp cloth — no abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Inspect the fibreglass frame connections periodically for any looseness or wear.
  • Do not fold or store until the cover is fully dry.

The steam unit (Steam only)

  • Descale the steam unit monthly using a diluted white vinegar solution (1:4 with water). Run through the unit, then flush with clean water before the next session.
  • Do not add essential oils directly to the external steam chamber — use only the internal dispenser.
  • Store the steam unit upright and empty when not in use.

Chromotherapy and panels (Infrared only)

  • Wipe infrared panels with a dry cloth only — never use water or cleaning products directly on the panels.
  • Inspect the panel cables periodically for any signs of wear or damage.

Storage

  • Disassemble fully before folding — do not force the frame into a folded position.
  • Fold the cover loosely to avoid creasing the material.
  • Store in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and moisture.
  • Do not store heavy items on top of the folded pod.

General

  • Do not use either model in wet outdoor conditions.
  • Do not leave either model assembled and unattended for extended periods.
  • (Steam only) The steam unit must not be exposed to rain at any time, even in covered outdoor use.
