Priming Your ChillerUpdated 2 hours ago
The chiller’s pump must be full of water before it starts. If it runs dry, even briefly, it can trigger the E2/Low Water Flow Alarm, make a grinding or whining noise, or fail to pump at all. Repeated dry starts can damage the pump, and damage caused by dry running isn’t covered by warranty.
Prime before every startup (after setup, every refill, and after filter changes):
- Connect the hoses and fill the tub so the water fully covers both ports.
- Open the filter cup lid and let water flow in until the cup is full and starts to overflow. You can also pour water into the cup.
- Close the lid firmly, checking that the O-ring is seated.
- Power on.
Signs the pump isn’t primed: E2 or a “water flow” alarm, no water coming back into the tub, or gurgling or whining from the chiller. If the pump still doesn’t run after priming, send us a short video of the startup, and we’ll walk you through it, by call if you’d prefer.
