Replacing a Blown FuseUpdated 2 hours ago

If your chiller won't power on, keeps cutting out, or has intermittent startup issues, a common cause is a blown fuse. The good news is it's quick to check and easy to replace at home and no technician required. A short video walkthrough of the steps below is available here.

Before you start

⚠️ Power off your unit and unplug it from the wall before beginning. Never inspect or replace a fuse while the unit is connected to power.

How to check and replace the fuse

  1. Locate the fuse panel — it's on the back of the unit in the lower right corner. You'll see a small rectangular cover.
  2. Open the cover — unscrew the panel (usually by hand, no tools needed) and set the screws aside somewhere safe.
  3. Inspect the fuse — a blown fuse will typically look burnt, discoloured, or cloudy, or have a visibly broken wire inside the glass casing.
  4. Replace the fuse — pull the old fuse straight out and push the new one in. Make sure the replacement matches the amp rating printed on the old fuse or listed in your unit's manual.
  5. Secure the cover — replace the panel and tighten the screws back into place.
  6. Test the unit — plug the chiller back in, power it on, and check that it starts up and runs without interruption.

If the fuse looks fine, or the issue continues

If the fuse appears intact, or the same problem happens again after replacing it, there may be a deeper electrical issue that needs our technical team. Get in touch with support and include:

  • A video confirming the condition of the fuse
  • Your order number and model
  • A brief description of what's happening (won't power on, cutting out, etc.)

We'll review it and get our technical team involved straight away.
