Before doing anything else, read the 24-hour rule below it's easy to miss, and skipping it can cause damage and affect your warranty.

Before you begin

⚠️ The 24-hour rule

After delivery, leave the unit upright for 24 hours before powering it on. This lets the refrigeration oil settle after transport and is critical for the unit to operate correctly. Powering on too early can cause damage and may affect warranty eligibility.

Placement requirements:

• Surface — flat, level, and stable, with at least 100 cm clearance on all sides for airflow. Do not install in an enclosed space, cupboard, or against a wall without adequate airflow.
• Power — confirm your supply matches the chiller's voltage requirements (AU/NZ: 240V | US: 120V). Use a properly rated dedicated outlet do not use long extension cords.
• Ventilation — choose a well-ventilated position. This unit runs hotter than smaller chillers.
• App — download the Tuya Smart app before setup if you want WiFi control. See Connect Your Tuya App for pairing instructions.
• Heat exhaust — the Ultra Ice 2HP generates significant heat. A utility area, plant room, or well-ventilated garage is ideal
• Weight — the unit is 54 kg. Plan your location before moving it into position.

Step-by-step setup

Step 1 — Connect to your tub

1. Connect the inlet hose to the inlet fitting on your tub.
2. Connect the outlet hose to the outlet fitting on your tub.
3. Ensure all connections are hand-tight and hoses run freely without kinking between the chiller and tub.
4. Confirm the paper filter is installed inside the unit before filling or powering on.

Step 2 — Fill your tub

1. Fill your tub before switching the chiller on.
2. The water level must sit between the chiller inlet and the tub inlet. Running the pump without sufficient water will cause damage.
3. The chiller requires a minimum water flow of 14 L/min to operate correctly.
4. If you see a water flow warning on the control panel, check the filter and connections before continuing.

Step 3 — Power on and set temperature

1. Confirm the unit has been upright for 24 hours since delivery.
2. Confirm the water level is correct and the paper filter is installed.
3. Switch on at the wall.
4. Set your target temperature on the touch panel. Water temperature is adjustable between 0–45°C.
5. Allow approximately 3 hours or more to reach your target temperature for a standard 300L volume. Larger volumes will take longer.

Maintenance

• Paper filter — inspect and replace when dirty. Clean every 4 weeks as a guide. A blocked paper filter is the most common cause of a water flow warning check this first
• Dust net — clean approximately every 3 months
• Before replacing the paper filter — always switch the RCD off first
• Before extended storage or freezing temperatures — open the drain outlet and empty all water to prevent freeze damage

Connecting to WiFi

The Ultra Ice 2HP uses the Tuya Smart app on a 2.4 GHz network only — 5 GHz will not work.

1. Power the unit on.
2. Press and hold the WiFi key for 6–10 seconds until the WiFi icon blinks on the panel.
3. Open the TUYA Smart app, select Add Device, and follow the on-screen steps.
4. Enter your 2.4 GHz network name and password when prompted.
5. A green check in the app confirms pairing is complete.

If pairing fails, move the router closer, reboot both the router and the chiller, and try again. For full troubleshooting, see Connect Your Tuya App.

Safety

• Never operate the chiller while anyone is in the water. Always power the unit off before a session.
• If you smell burning or see water near electrical components, unplug immediately and contact support. Do not attempt to use or repair the unit.
• If your RCD/GFCI trips repeatedly, do not keep resetting it. Contact a qualified electrician.
