Setting Up Your XEN Full Spectrum Infrared SaunaUpdated 10 hours ago

The XEN is a full-spectrum recovery system combining infrared heat, medical-grade red light therapy, and 16 modes of chromotherapy. Assembly is tool-free and takes around 30 minutes.

Two people are recommended for assembly. Allow 1–2 hours for your first build.

Before you begin

Choose your final location before you start assembling. The XEN is indoor use only.

  • Surface — flat, level, and stable
  • Clearance — enough space to open the door fully and access the control panel
  • Power — dedicated grounded 10A outlet required; do not use extension cords, power boards, or share the circuit with other high-draw appliances
  • Ventilation — keep airflow around the unit clear at all times

Lay out all panels and components and match them against the parts list in your manual before starting. If anything arrives damaged, photograph it and contact us before installing.

XEN Full Spectrum Infrared Sauna Installation Guide

Step-by-step setup

Step 1 — Remove protective film

Peel the protective film from all infrared panels before assembly. This is required for correct heat output and is easy to miss.

Step 2 — Assemble the panels

Snap the wall and roof panels together following the assembly guide. No tools required. Align panels carefully before connecting, never force a join.

Step 3 — Connect the cables

Match labelled connectors, male and female connections are labelled on each cable. Connect the infrared heating panels and red light panel to the control unit as indicated in the guide. Route and connect the control panel cable before closing the final wall panel.

Step 4 — Install the bench

Depending on your model, the bench installs one of two ways:

  • Slide-in bench — align the bench to the internal rails and slide into place. It will lock naturally without any fasteners.
  • Screw-fix bench — align the bench to the internal rails and secure using the screws provided.

Both are equally solid check your assembly guide if you're unsure which applies to your unit.

Step 5 — Install the glass door

Install the door last. The magnetic seal must align fully around the frame perimeter.

Step 6 — Power on

Plug into your dedicated outlet and power on. Run the sauna empty at maximum temperature for 30–40 minutes before your first session. A mild odour during this burn-off is completely normal and clears within 2–3 uses.

First use

The XEN heats up in 20–30 minutes depending on your ambient room temperature. A good starting point is 140–150°F (60–65°C) you don't need to push straight to maximum.

A few things worth knowing early on:

  • Enter a few degrees below your target temperature. Letting the heat build around you is more effective and more comfortable than stepping into maximum heat.
  • Keep your first sessions to 20–30 minutes while your body adjusts and build from there.
  • Use the red light panel during your session, not just before or after, the dual wavelength works best with sustained exposure.
  • The XEN produces a genuine sweat go in well hydrated and rehydrate immediately after.
  • Evening sessions are particularly effective for sleep the post-session core temperature drop triggers melatonin release, allow 30–60 minutes between finishing and going to bed.

Care and maintenance

After every session

  • Turn off and unplug from the wall
  • Leave the door open for 15–20 minutes to dissipate heat and moisture
  • Wipe the bench and interior walls with a dry cloth
  • Always place a towel on the bench during use, this is the single most effective habit for long-term care of the cedar
  • Ensure the interior is fully dry before closing the door

Monthly

  • Vacuum interior surfaces to clear cedar dust and fibre buildup
  • Clean the glass door with a soft microfibre cloth only no abrasives, scrapers, or chemical sprays
  • Use a sauna-specific timber cleaner for the cedar interior

Quarterly

  • Check ventilation areas around the unit are clear
  • Inspect all power cables and connections for visible damage, cracking, or looseness, if anything looks off, stop use and contact us before the next session

General

  • Never place liquids, essential oils, or sprays inside the cabin
  • Do not use alcohol, bleach, solvent-based cleaners, or abrasive pads on any surface
  • For the glass door: soft microfibre or damp cloth only, dry immediately and never use scrapers or blades

Seasonal storage

  • Run one final session before packing down to fully dry the interior
  • Disassemble panels carefully and store flat or upright and never stack heavy items on top
  • Wipe all panels with a dry microfibre cloth before storing
  • Store in a dry, climate-controlled space away from direct sunlight and extreme temperature fluctuations; avoid garages or outdoor sheds unless well insulated
  • Wrap infrared panels loosely in breathable material, avoid airtight plastic which traps moisture
  • On reassembly, run an empty session for 20–30 minutes before use to clear any residual moisture

Dry climates

  • Occasionally wipe the cedar with a lightly damp cloth to prevent over-drying and surface cracking

Humid climates

  • Ventilate frequently, leave the door open after each use, and ensure the cabin dries fully before closing
