Setting Up Your XEN SaunaUpdated 2 days ago
Two people are required for assembly. Allow 1–2 hours for your first build and lay out all parts before starting, checking them against the parts list in your manual. If any part arrives damaged, photograph it and contact support before installing.
Assembly
Follow these steps in order:
- Remove the protective film from all infrared panels before assembly. This is required for correct heat output and is easy to miss.
- Lay out all panels and components and match them to the parts list before starting.
- Align panels carefully before inserting screws.
- Match labelled connectors male and female connectors are labelled on each cable. Never force a connection.
- Install the bench by aligning the brackets to the internal rails before inserting bolts.
- Route and connect the control panel cable before closing the final wall panel. The manual shows the correct routing path.
- Install the glass door last. The magnetic seal must align fully around the frame perimeter.
Electrical connection
- Dedicated grounded 10A outlet required
- Do not use extension cords or power boards
- Do not share the circuit with other high-draw appliances
First use burn-off
Before your first session with anyone inside, run the sauna empty at maximum temperature for 30–40 minutes. A mild odour during this burn-off is completely normal and clears within 2–3 uses.
After each session
- Turn off and unplug from the wall
- Leave the door open for 15–20 minutes to dissipate heat and moisture
- Wipe the bench and interior walls with a dry cloth
- Ensure the interior is fully dry before closing the door
- Always place a towel on the bench during use to protect the cedar
Cleaning the wood
- Vacuum dust from interior surfaces regularly
- For marks: use a slightly damp (not wet) cloth, then dry immediately
Do not use: alcohol or solvent-based cleaners, bleach, harsh chemicals, abrasive pads, or excessive moisture on any wooden surface.
Cleaning the glass door
Use a soft microfibre cloth or soft paper towel. For stubborn marks, a slightly damp cloth followed by immediate drying. Never use scrapers, blades, or abrasive materials on the glass.
Climate and storage
Dry climates: occasionally wipe the wood with a lightly damp cloth to prevent over-drying and surface cracking.
Humid climates: ventilate frequently, leave the door open after each use, and ensure the cabin dries fully before closing.
Long-term storage: store in a dry indoor environment only. Avoid humidity, extreme cold, or damp spaces.
