Chiller Keeps Restarting or CyclingUpdated 2 hours ago
Ultra X2 and Acrylic: flicking between C1 and a version number (e.g. U1.5)
C1 on its own just means the power was cut (see Chiller Power Alarm (C1)). If the display keeps flicking between C1 and the version number, the chiller is losing power as it tries to start.
- Unplug it and replace the fuse with the spare supplied (same rating). See Replacing a Blown Fuse.
- Plug into a dedicated outlet, not an extension lead or power board.
- Power on.
Ultra X4, Ultra Max and Ultra Ice: switching off and restarting
- Check the water level and filters. Low flow can make the chiller stop and restart (see Chiller Water Flow Alarm).
- Check that it’s on a dedicated outlet and that your RCD/GFCI hasn’t tripped.
- Check the ventilation. There should be 100 cm of clear space around every vent.
If it keeps happening, stop restarting it. Repeated restarts can damage the compressor. Before you switch it off, watch what starts just before it cuts out: the fan, the pump or the compressor. Then switch it off at the power button, then at the wall, and send us a short video showing it happen, plus your serial number. That tells our technicians exactly where to look.
